For unusual locations such as Star Trek, Deep Space Nine and Episode IV of the George Lucas Star Wars Saga, the Rocketdyne Santa Susana Field Laboratory has been one of Hollywood’s best-kept secrets. With a “where’d they film that?” aura to it, the SSFL is perfect for SCI-FI, or in the case of Burt Reynolds and Hooper, the perfect place to do a record free-fall from a helicopter with out endangering the public. Scenes from popular television series such as the Bionic Woman and the Six Million Dollar Man were also filmed at the Field Lab. Some shows keep within the theme of the SSFL, as did episode 4067 of Barnaby Jones “The Alpha-Bravo War” that aired October 24th, 1975. In this Barnaby Jones episode two teams, Alpha and Bravo compete in the development of missile designs. When a man of the Bravo team is killed by a mis-directed missile, Barnaby is hired to find out whether it was an accident or sabotage.
